warriors' offense not the right offense to maximize russell

first of all, let me preface this by saying that i'm a huge D'Angelo fan.. that said, I am fully aware that he has some drawbacks (most notably his fluctuating energy level). but this post is not about that. rather, the focus of today's contribution is my feeling that the democratic, egalitarian, ball-movement offense that luke brought down from the bay area is not the right type of attack to fully take advantage of Russell's gifts. Russell needs the ball in his hands a lot of the time. his detractors complain about his lack of assists when everyone says what a brilliant passer he is... but what do you expect? when the offense is humming, randle gets a lot of dimes, too. when randle was out with pneumonia, D'Angelo piled up more dimes and that was not a coincidence. is steph curry one of the league's best PGs (if not THE best)? sure he is.. and he's surrounded by incredible scorers in klay and KD (two guys that can go off for 40 on any given night).. and guess how many dimes he's averaging per game? 6.4! so what do you expect D'Angelo to do in the same offense but without the same weapons to pass to? Russell has a lot of work to do and is still obviously learning.. but I can't help but wonder what he would look like in a 'chris paul/clippers' type offense. thoughts?
