LA LAKERS

Before downvoting me to oblivion, hear me out. The Cavs issue right now is that they have 3 starters who all need the ball to be effective and have no scoring/playmaking off the bench. The Lakers issue is that we have too many young guys on a team with no dominant leader to show them how to win games.

We know Kevin Love has professed many times that he wants to be a Laker (but likely not enough to come to us right now), and we've also heard Mozgov say he wishes he was back on the Cavs roster. Tristan Thompson can't play 48 minutes a game, and Mozgov would be able to outrebound most big men on other benches. We have no use for Mozgov after the emergence of our lord and savior Zublocka Flocka Flame and he'd likely benefit from an uptick of minutes with Mozgov's departure. In terms of a playmaker, the Cavs have their pick of Lou Williams, Nick Young, and Jose Calderon who would all add immediate scoring and playmaking off the bench - I'd even be willing to part with two of these playmakers and Mozgov in exchange for Love + Chris Andersen (just to make the salary math work).

As far as I know, the salary math works out if we package Mozgov and LWill/Swaggy/Jose for Kevin Love or if we package Mozgov + 2 of LWill/Swaggy/Jose for Love+Anderson. I agree the Cavs likely will not want to absorb the Mozgov contract, but it does really seem like Mozgov thrives in Cleveland being surrounded by a team that can win a championship, and I believe his value would be exponentially better coming off the bench/alongside Tristan Thompson.

Any thoughts? I know that on a pure player-to-player basis, the Cavs are losing in this trade, but for the needs they currently have on their team and the roles they need to fill, I could see them being interested. Tristan Thompson is their rim protector and Kyle Korver is their outside shooter. When JR Smith returns, I can't see a role Kevin Love would play on their team and I think Nick Young/Lou Williams could provide explosive scoring off the bench.
