LA LAKERS

This team needs a few things to be competitive. Chemistry between the young guns (D'lo,Ingram,Randle,Nance,JC,Zu), and better team defense are probably the most important. I can't see anyone other than Nance and Ingram (maybe Zu for rim protection) being good/great defenders.

This is why I believe if we get anything other than the no.1 pick(Fultz), the Lakers should draft Josh Jackson. When I watch him it seems like his defense and slashing will translate effortlessly. This guy is athletic as hell and he looks strong. I think his strength will allow him to contribute on the defensive end from day 1. He can guard 2-4 and that's exactly what we need. I believe that he'll add to their chemistry because he's not a ball dominant player and he makes great cuts which will help D'lo. He's almost the perfect fit because he brings energy on the perimeter, which we don't have.He definetly has to work on his shooting but his shot is not broken like mkg or other defensive minded wings.

If the lakers had the 2nd pick I believe they should pick Jackson over ball. Lonzo looks like he has amazing potential but I dont see him making the Lakers (specifically) better. The main thing we need is defense and Lonzos defense looks questionable. Even though he may be an explosive leaper, Lonzo does not have lateral quickness or good spacing. Which means he may never be an above average defender. His release also scares me. NBA defenders are so much better and I don't see how he will get that shot off consistently. His pnr game is also lacking which leads me to believe that he won't be the playmaker that he is in college. He gets a lot of assists on fast breaks. I also thinking drafting Lonzo will hurt D'los confidence. If you watch D'lo he looks like he wants to run the show and idk if Luke can make him concede to Ball. We've already had JC switching positions and it turned him into a different player.

Tl;dr The lakers really need defense and chemistry so Jackson is the best fit. Lonzo looks great but his release, pnr game, and defense look suspect. He also can't attack the basket very well
