Should the Lakers trade Jordan Clarkson?
Jordan Clarkson's trade restriction has ended today, I know there isn't any talks of making a trade that includes him but I think it should be on the table.
First of all, I know Jordan Clarkson is a good scorer and excels at open court. He is a good asset, thats why he should be on the table.
One reason that I believe he should be traded is my hunch that he reached his full potential, he spent 4 years in college and had a whole year of being one of the premier scorers on the team. I feel like it could only be downhill from here. Also, his movements and dribbling feels less than natural or smooth.
Also he is lacking basketball IQ, especially on non-fastbreak offense (set plays). Often forces his plays into traffic and it ends either in a forced shot or a turnover.
He is not that great on clutch time either, unless he is extremely hot. He is a volume backcourt shooter, which we have a bunch of and he can be replaced by a veteran distributor like Calderon or Huertas. And lastly he is at best a mediocre defender. That is why, considering his value, his contract and his age, it could be the most opportunistic time to trade him. Maybe for a swingman who can defend and shoot the three to replace Luol.
What do you guys think?
