My thoughts about Lakers...
I see a lot of people frustrated because of our recent losses. I am too. And I need to share my thoughts about our team. 1) People who are frustrated because "we were supposed to be in playoffs" need to calm down. We were never supposed to be a playoff team this year. This year is for development and I think we are developing... and having growing pains. 2) 10-10 Start happened because we were healthy and played in Luke's system. Unfortunately we do not have a star who can take over games any more and I am sure Luke knew that at the start of this season. He knew that best way to develop young guys is to teach them good habits and make them compete. To compete we need to play as a team because we do not have individual talent to carry us. Injuries fucked us. 3) Losing sucks... but competing and losing is actually better for us this year than winning for example 30 games and not making playoffs. If we lose this years pick- we lose 2019 pick to Orlando too. In new CBA era every asset is important. We shouldn't mess up our future for some extra wins this year. Now, I do not advocate tankin like Byron did. We shouldn't lose games deliberately. But do think, as the season goes along, we should play our young guys more. Throw in Zubac and Ingram in the starting lineup, coach them make them compete and live with the results. 4) Development. Some people here are angry and think this is the same bad team. I disagree. We are a different bad team. Last year we were losing because players had no experience and no idea what to do on the court. This year player now what they should execute but can't because of inexperience. We all forget that actually this is the first time guys have to execute a clear game plan and not just "man up." Even with all these painful, frustrating, annoying and stupid losses I see development. This is a team we should have been last year but... Byron.
