Luke HAS to let D'Lo finish the games
Let me start by saying its not about a bullshit catchphrase or anything like that. Lakers have been struggling to close games the whole year. I believe that the reason for this is lack of a "go to" guy. Luke doesn't help it either, he did not let D'Lo and Lou finish the Charlotte game and did similar things in the previous games.
The team needs that guy that will finish the game no matter what. And if we are aiming to build D'Lo to be the franchise guy, Luke has to trust D'Lo and tolerate the mistakes he might make or made, so D'Lo can build up confidence to be "the guy". He has shown he is capable of finishing games, if given the chance he will be even better.
I love Luke as a coach, I loved him as a player as well. And this is his first head-coaching experience on a building team, no doubt he will be so much better as time progresses just like the team. Yes he coached the Warriors last season but that team had a clear finishing line-up. Luke has to find his, and stick with it. And D'Lo should be the guy that leads it. (definitely should not be Clarkson, I feel like his feet become slippery on the last plays)
What are your thoughts on it?
