It's a shame, Clarkson put so much work in on his jumper in the offseason, just to revert back to his old habits.

In his offseason workouts, he was working on having more of a set shot. Higher release, didn't jump as high, and was landing in the same spot.

As soon as the season started, as soon as even the preseason started, he was back to his old ways. Low release, jumping as high as he can, and trailing in the air on his shots.

It's the chicken and egg with him having a line drive release because he jumps so high or he jumps so high because he has a line drive release.

And the third strike is the trailing. Too much mid air movement. He's aiming for a shot that was supposed to be released a foot or two from where he ends up. He even does it on his free throws. He's leaning forward instead of just shooting straight up.

Hopefully, he, his personal trainer, or someone on the staff can get him back on track. You can't expect different results with the same bad habits.
