If you thought our schedule now Is bad, take note that there is a time this season When we would have played 4.5 games more than the League Average...
I'm doing some schedule-crunching to see how bad our schedule really is and this stood out.
(feel free to double check if you are so inclined to do so)
By January 15, 2017 each team would have played this many games:
ATL = 40
BKL = 40
BOS = 40
CHA = 40
CHI = 42
CLE = 39
DAL = 40
DEN = 38
DET = 43
GSW = 40
HOU = 43
IND = 39
LAC = 42
LAL = 45
MEM = 43
MIA = 41
MIL = 39
MIN = 41
NOP = 41
NYK = 41
OKC = 42
ORL = 42
PHI = 38
PHO = 40
POR = 42
SAC = 40
SAS = 40
TOR = 40
UTA = 42
WAS = 39
So at this point, we're already at game #45 while no other team is even at game #44. Heck, Denver at this point is only at game #38. If you average the games played by the rest of the league, that's 40.5 games... and we're already at #45.
On the bright side, our post-ASB schedule is pretty light (as it should be). March especially, when we play a league-low 14 games while the league average is 16.2 games that month.
